Creative Conversations 2023
Wednesday, April 19
6pm - 8pm at MACLA
genARTS’ Creative Conversations is an annual event that brings together the arts community for an open dialogue about the arts sector. This year, the event will be held at MACLA with support from the City of San Jose’s Abierto Program.
Join us on Wednesday, April 19th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. for an evening of insightful conversations, relationship-building, and art, as we discuss sustainable funding practices in the arts at the artist, funder, and government levels. The event will also feature genARTS’ inaugural 2022 Emerging Artist Micro-Grant recipients, Keana Aguila Labra and Ruby Carter who will share about the impact that micro-grants can have on emerging artists’ ability to explore and create.
The evening will be moderated by Stephanie Barajas, current genARTS Co-Chair, and include leading community leaders and arts professionals who will provide a unique perspective on philanthropy, grant making, and sustainability efforts to support the resilience of artists and creatives in Silicon Valley.
