EXPERIMENTAL EXHIBITION

The annual genARTS Experimental Exhibition is a program that provides an exhibition opportunity for emerging and established artists from Santa Clara County, with a focus on San Jose artists. The goal of the project is to create accessible, entry-level opportunities for local artists and arts administrators to participate in a curated gallery exhibit, and to provide opportunities for networking and relationship-building between new/emerging artists and more established arts professionals.

genARTS is a network of over 950 general members and a dedicated volunteer Executive Committee whose mission is to empower creative individuals and emerging arts leaders, supported by a vision to strengthen the creative community in Santa Clara County. Our Experimental Exhibit epitomizes our mission, vision, and pillars of professional development, networking, and accessibility.

The theme and programs that accompany the annual Experimental Exhibition are informed by the concerns and needs of our creative community. The program addresses underlying unique struggles and problems of the local arts community through a multi-prong approach and solution. Through our Experimental Exhibition, we provide a platform for education, promotion, and empowerment that creates a direct impact that strengthens all parties involved.

The project aligns with our mission by targeting emerging artists who may not have a traditional training or education and are entering the arts without the traditional foundation. We are creating an accessible and low-barrier entry point for local artists to take steps forward on their creative paths.
